Professional Knowledge Transfer Workshop (Arduino Simple Programming) at Schools near Parit Raja, Batu Pahat. Johor.
October- November 2017 – The Arduino Simple Programming at school was held at 5 different Schools near Parit Raja, Batu Pahat, Johor. The schools are SK Jelutong, SMK Sri gading, SK Pintas Puding, SK Bukit Kuari and SK Seri Sabak Uni during October- November 2017. The objective of Professional Knowledge Transfer Workshop is to give an exposure to the students of primary and secondary schools on engineering and to inspire them to be an engineer. This program has been organized by the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) UTHM Student Branch with cooperation of IEEE Signal Processing Society (SPS) Malaysia Chapter. The program is fully funded by IEEE SPS under the IEEE SPS Member Driven Initiative Fund for the amount of USD 1,400. The fund has been used to buy 30 Arduino Uno kits, purchasing materials, stationery, and refreshments for 30 student participant from each school, 10 postgraduates student form UTHM IEEE student branch and 3 Academic staffs from FKEE, UTHM.
By the end of this workshop, the participants has gain knowledge that will inspire them to try a new things in study and enables this understanding of engineering to come to life through problem solving, designing and building things. Besides, they should be able to create a beginner engineering project by their own using Arduino microcontroller and interested to be an engineer in electrical and electronic. This workshop also encourage them to start thinking about their future path and to be an engineer in school and home. With this workshop, the Malaysian hopes to make up the number of engineers who are now more than 65000 people to 82000 people will succeed.
