The Fundamentals of Subspace-based
Techniques with Applications in Signal
and Image Processing

Short Course on Imaging for Biomedical Applications
Date: 1-3 27 - 29 May, 2013
Venue: Kuala Lumpur.
The course will cover image processing techniques for various medical applications related to cancer research (detection and diagnosis of breast and lung cancer), dermatology (skin and pigmentation analysis) and ophthalmology (diabetic retinal image analysis). Participants will get an opportunity to have hands-on experience on multispectral camera, 3D optical scanner, Laser scanner and Fundus camera.

Matrix Computation for Signal Processing

The course will cover the basic of matrix computation techniques and will also show interesting basic and industrial applications using computing techniques. Interesting topics will be covered: Gauss-Seidal, Chelosky and LU Factorization, QR factorization and Least Square using various system identification models etc. The course will be supplement with introduction to Scilab.

2013 IEEE International Conference on Signal
and Image Processing Applications
(ICSIPA2013)
Date: 8th - 10th October 2013
Venue: Melaka, Malaysia
The IEEE International Conference on Signal and Image Processing Applications (ICSIPA), organized by the IEEE Signal Processing Society (Malaysia Section) provides a forum for local and international researchers and engineers from academia and industry to present and discuss the latest technological advances and research results in the fields of theoretical, experimental and applied signal, image and video processing. IEEE ICSIPA 2013 is the third in the series and will be held in the Historical City of Melaka (Malacca), a UNESCO World Heritage Site in Malaysia. The previous two IEEE ICSIPA conferences, held in 2009 and 2011 at Kuala Lumpur, were major successes with over 50% and 70% international participation, respectively.
